Poppies4Kits was founded in May 2014 after a youth game cancellation sparked the idea to raise funds for The Royal British Legion by encouraging players to wear poppies. Initially launched locally, the campaign gained nationwide attention via social media, raising £18,976.49 in its first year for the Norfolk branch.
In 2015, we became Corporate Partners with The Royal British Legion, supplying woven self-adhesive poppies. Despite challenges from COVID-19 in 2020, we continued with our mission of raising vital funds for the RBL. We introduced Black Poppy Armbands in 2021 and our fundraising total topped £40,000 for the first time, in the same year. We then launched Poppy Corner Flags in 2023.
By 2024, we had raised over £325,000 for the RBL. Poppies4Kits' success reflects the strong support from clubs, and we aim to expand our reach and further promote remembrance.
2025, saw the biggest area of growth within Poppies4Kits since it’s inception. We were incredibly excited to launch a new rebrand including a new website, and bespoke packaging for the first time. Thanks to the amazing support of clubs and individuals all over the country, we donated a record breaking total of £44,612.60 to the Royal British Legion.

our mission

to bring the act of Remembrance into grassroots sport by providing officially approved poppy products that unite clubs, players, officials and spectators in support of the Armed Forces Community.

Through every poppy, armband and corner flag, we help raise vital funds for the Royal British Legion while ensuring that future generations understand the sacrifices made by those who have served.

We believe remembrance should be visible, accessible and meaningful at every level of sport. By working with clubs across the UK, we aim to keep the spirit of remembrance alive both on and off the pitch.

At Poppies4Kits, we are deeply proud to partner with the Royal British Legion and bring the symbol of remembrance to grassroots sport. By placing the poppy on the kits of players, we ensure that future generations grow up with an understanding of the sacrifices made by those who came before them. Every time a player steps onto the pitch wearing a poppy, it is more than just a game — it becomes a powerful act of respect and remembrance. Together, with the Royal British Legion, we are proud to unite communities through sport, honouring the past while inspiring the future.

Reviews

“I ordered poppies for our youth football league and was so impressed with the service. They arrived on time, beautifully presented and really professional. Our players and referees all wore them proudly, and it was a lovely way for the teams to show their respect. A pleasant surprise was the corner poppy flags — they looked fantastic on the pitch and added something really special to the day. We’ll definitely be ordering from Poppies For You again. Highly recommended!”

“As a club we have used Poppies4Kits for the last 5 years. The orders are always really quickly shipped and the product is great every time. They stick tot he kit and even after 90 minutes in torrential rain the poppies are still in place but after peeling them off and washing the kits there is no residue left on the shirts. Thanks for the great service and happy to help the Royal British Legion by purchasing your products.”

a word from the rbl

Since 2015, the Royal British Legion and Poppies4Kits have been proud partners, working together to enable local grassroots sports clubs to show their support for the Armed Forces community. Through self-adhesive Poppy Patches, commemorative armbands, and poppy corner flags, this initiative has provided sports clubs with a meaningful way to honour those who have served.
Poppies4Kits has played a vital role in increasing the Royal British Legion’s visibility within grassroots sports across the UK. By integrating the iconic poppy into local sports, the partnership has helped reinforce our core message of Remembrance and support for the Armed Forces community. Importantly, the removable self-adhesive Poppy Patch allows clubs to continue using their kits beyond Remembrance events, ensuring sustainability while maintaining the spirit of commemoration.
Since the partnership began, Poppies4Kits has raised over £375,000 in support of the Armed Forces community. Beyond fundraising, this collaboration has strengthened our ties with local sports organisations, providing communities with an accessible way to engage with Remembrance through their clubs and teams.
We are grateful for the continued impact of Poppies4Kits and look forward to growing this initiative in the years to come.
